Police have released a composite sketch of a man suspected of trying to kidnap a teenage girl in the football field parking lot at Ventura High School last week.

The man is described as in his mid-20s, 5 feet, 11 inches and 175 pounds, with black hair and dark eyes. He was last seen wearing a green and blue flannel shirt, black sweatpants, black thongs and sunglasses.

Police say the man threatened the 17-year-old girl with a 6-inch folding knife as she sat in her parked car at about 10:30 a.m. on May 5. He hit the girl--who is not a student at Ventura High--before she got out of the car with the keys and fled, authorities said. The man ran away before police arrived.
