4 Gunmen Dressed as Officers Burst Into Home, Rob Residents
Four gunmen posing as police officers forced their way into a Watts home early Thursday, tied up several adults and fled with $70, authorities said.
No injuries were reported in the incident, which began when a man who was visiting a home in the 1500 block of East 92nd Street was accosted outside by the four men, said Los Angeles Police Det. David Knighton.
The man was taken into the home by the gunmen, who tied up the visitor and eight other adults, most of them residents of the home, with plastic cuff strips similar to ones used by police, Knighton said. Four young children were inside the home but were not restrained, he said.
One of the robbers wore a baseball hat with “security” or “police” written on it and another wore a uniform-type jacket, Knighton said.
