* Fresno-based department store chain Gottschalks Inc. reported a fiscal first-quarter loss of $2.0 million, or 19 cents per share, compared with a loss of $987,000, or 9 cents, a year ago. It reported net sales of $95.4 million for the quarter ended May 2, compared with $90.5 million a year ago.
