‘Flasher’ With Video Camera Sought by Sheriff’s Deputies
Sheriff’s deputies are seeking a masked man who exposed himself to several women and used a video camera to record their responses, authorities said.
The unidentified man “flashed” women at four locations in Santa Clarita on Thursday between 6:30 and 9:30 p.m., sheriff’s officials said.
“He has a very distinct pattern,” said Lt. Tim Peters of the Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station. “He drops his drawers and then uses his camera to record the expressions on their faces.”
In each of the reported cases, the man approached a woman on foot and spoke to her in vulgar language, Peters said. He did not attempt to touch any of the women.
The flasher was described by witnesses as a white man, 6 feet 1 to 6 feet 3, and weighing about 190 pounds. He wore a black sweat suit and a black ski mask.
The incidents occurred in front of a women’s exercise class at Valencia Glen Park, a Mervyn’s store parking lot, a hair salon and a gym.
Peters said that it was unlikely that the recent incidents were related to a similar series of incidents last year because a suspect was arrested in the earlier cases.
“As far as we know, this is somebody new,” Peters said.
Those with more information are asked to call the sheriff’s station at (805) 255-1121.
