2 Named to All-USA Academic First Team

Two Orange County students were among 20 chosen for USA Today’s 12th annual All-USA High School Academic First Team--honoring students for outstanding scholarship, intellectual achievement and leadership.
Farzad Alemi of Laguna Hills High School in Mission Viejo and Jessica Tan of Troy High School in Yorba Linda each received a trophy and $2,500 cash awards at a ceremony at the national newspaper’s headquarters in Arlington, Va.
The students were selected by a panel of 14 judges who reviewed entries from 7,213 nominees representing 50 states.
