* Men: Jiri Novak of the Czech Republic beat Xavier Malisse of Belgium, 6-3, 6-3, to win the $315,000 event in Mexico City.
CHAMPIONS TOUR
* Senior Men: Jimmy Connors swept Andres Gomez, 6-2, 6-3, to take the $150,000 event at Tokyo.
BELL CHALLENGE
* Women: Tara Snyder earned her first WTA title by rallying to defeat fifth-seeded fellow American Chanda Rubin, 4-6, 6-4, 7-6 (8-6), at Quebec.
SEAT LUXEMBOURG OPEN
* Women: Mary Pierce, seeded No. 2, claimed the Seat Open after beating Italy’s Silvia Farina 6-0 in the first set. Farina retired after trailing, 2-0, in the second set.
