Angels Gate Park, of the Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks, needs volunteers, craft vendors and holiday entertainers for its “Holiday Lane” festival Dec. 11 through 13. A craft fair will run from noon to 5 p.m. A light festival runs from 6 to 10 p.m., featuring displays created by area businesses and organizations. The park is in San Pedro. * The American Cancer Society needs volunteers to respond to telephone inquiries at nine Los Angeles area offices. Volunteers are trained to provide referrals, information and guidance to cancer patients, their families and others. People are needed four hours a week during the day. Information: (213) 736-5075.

* Crop Walk ’98 needs people to participate in its yearly walk to raise funds for hunger-fighting agencies. The walk, sponsored by the Valley Interfaith Council, made up of San Fernando Valley churches, will be held Sunday at St. Paul’s Methodist Church in Tarzana. There is a 2K and a 10K walk.
