Align-Rite Reports Rise in Revenue, Earnings

Burbank-based Align-Rite International posted record revenue and earnings for the fiscal 1999 second quarter, the company reported.
Revenue for the second quarter increased 22% to $13.99 million from $11.42 million in the second quarter of fiscal year 1998. Net income for the 1999 second quarter rose by 21% to $1.81 million or 37 cents per share, from 1998’s $1.49 million or 31 cents per share.
For the six months that ended Sept. 30, revenue increased 26% to $27.68 million, from $22.04 million for the same period in the previous fiscal year. Net income for the first six months of fiscal 1999 increased 22% to $3.59 million or 74 cents per share, against $2.93 million or 61 cents per share, for the comparable period of fiscal 1998.
Align-Rite makes photo masks--quartz or glass plates used to help transfer circuit patterns onto silicon wafers in the production of semiconductors.
