Hartsburg Plans More Changes

Coach Craig Hartsburg vowed Thursday to continue changing the Ducks’ lineup. He has a couple of ideas in mind, but won’t make them known until today.

“We’ve got to be prepared to work,” Hartsburg said, still angry over the Ducks’ lackluster showing in a 3-1 loss Wednesday to the St. Louis Blues. “We won’t accept [a poor effort]. There were a handful of players who worked hard, but there weren’t a whole lot.”

Hartsburg said he’s not all that concerned about a lack of goals or assists from some of his veteran players, among them center Travis Green. He simply wants a better effort.

“If guys are working hard and doing the right things, [scoring] will take care of itself,” Hartsburg said. “I’m more concerned with the lack of work or the lack of commitment.”

Green and left wing Marty McInnis were dropped from the second line to play with enforcer Stu Grimson on the fourth line for the St. Louis game. Hartsburg also scratched defenseman Fredrik Olausson, replacing him with Mike Crowley.

“There probably will be a few more changes,” Hartsburg said. “Obviously, there were some guys who did not play well.”
