The city’s identity may get a make-over if a land-use proposal going before the public Tuesday night takes hold. A new Commercial Regional Zone being proposed is intended to “create unique, high-quality development to constitute the heart of the city,” according to a report from the Community Development Department.
Situated around the Buena Park Mall near Stanton and La Palma avenues, the zone would give entrepreneurs leeway to be creative with signs, designs, setbacks and other regulations.
City officials said they hope to attract a variety of shops, restaurants and services that would form a real city center.
The meeting begins at 5 p.m. at City Hall, 6650 Beach Blvd.
