Devils’ Holik Is Suspended
New Jersey Devil center Bobby Holik has been suspended pending an NHL hearing for “slew footing” Florida Panther defenseman Paul Laus.
Holik will appear before Colin Campbell, NHL senior vice president and director of hockey operations, in New York on Tuesday.
“Definitely, [I had] no intention of hurting anyone,” Holik said. “I don’t want to say anything before Tuesday. I don’t want to get in deeper than I am.”
Although television replays showed he used his right leg to take down Laus, Holik received a high-sticking penalty after the incident.
