No. 3 UCLA (8-0, 6-0) at WASHINGTON (5-3, 3-3)

* Kickoff: 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Husky Stadium, Channel 7.

* Story line: Coming off a victory at Oregon State, the Bruins head back to the Pacific Northwest to play in the cold and, probably, rain. Husky Stadium always has been a tough place for them. They lost in 1996, 41-21; in ‘94, 37-10, and in ‘92, 30-17. Washington has won three of the last four meetings.

* UCLA update: A victory clinches the Pacific 10 Conference championship and at least a berth in the Rose Bowl, should the Bruins get knocked out of the Fiesta Bowl. They are 6-0 in conference play for the first time since 1987, when they started 7-0.

* Washington update: It has been a season of streaks. The Huskies won their first two (Arizona State and Brigham Young), lost two (Nebraska and Arizona), won three (Utah State, California and Oregon State) and have lost their last two (USC and Oregon).

* Edge to UCLA: After their high-wire acts against Oregon, Stanford and Oregon State, the intrigue is to see how the Bruins will escape this week.

* Line: UCLA by 7 1/2.
