The Phoenix Coyotes, who are 6-0-2 and are off to a franchise-best 8-2-2 start. Left wing Keith Tkachuk has eight goals and 11 points in an eight-game scoring streak.

The Buffalo Sabres, who are on a 5-0-3 roll. They have outscored opponents in that span, 26-11, and goaltender Dominik Hasek has recorded two shutouts.

WHO’S NOT

The Chicago Blackhawks. They can’t buy a win to stop an 0-8-2 skid. During the streak, they have been outscored, 41-15, and have given up 10 goals to Toronto, seven to Florida, and six to Buffalo.

The Carolina Hurricanes’ power play, which has two goals in its last 11 games, both against the Kings on Saturday. With a 9.2% efficiency rate, the Hurricanes have the NHL’s third-worst power play.

Detroit center Sergei Fedorov. He’s stuck at two goals--none in his last seven games--and has only seven points in 15 games. He also has a team-worst minus-eight plus/minus ratio.
