Beuhring Pike; Ventura Resident

Ventura resident Beuhring W. Pike died at an Oxnard convalescent hospital following a brief illness. He was 84.

Pike was born Oct. 2, 1914, in Trinity, Texas, and was a graduate of Rice University in Texas.

For 28 years, Pike was an electrical engineer employed by the federal government. He retired in 1972. Four years later Pike moved to Ventura County from Lompoc.

Pike was a member of the Professional Registered Engineers of California and the Sigma Xi honor society. He was also an amateur ham radio operator.

Pike is survived by his wife, Alicia Pike of Ventura; two daughters, Martha Virginia Pike of Monterey and Elizabeth Alicia Pike of Louisville, Ky.; a brother, John Millard Pike of Houston; two sisters, Dorothy Nash of Menlo Park and Peggy Gordon of San Angelo, Texas, and two grandsons.

A private service will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Rice University’s Alumni/Engineering Fund in Houston.

Arrangements are being handled by Ted Mayr Funeral Home in Ventura.
