United Parcel Service has named Rocky Romanella chief operating officer of the South California district, the company said Wednesday.
Romanella, who will be based in Aliso Viejo, will oversee nearly 6,000 employees throughout the Southland. He had held a similar position in the company’s Iowa/South Dakota district since 1996.
Romanella, 41, began working for UPS as an hourly employee unloading trucks while attending St. John’s University in New York. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business administration in 1980.
