A Flair for the Dramatic
He’s known as “the Andy Warhol of a new generation” and is viewed as one of the world’s fastest-rising artists, his work often described as energetic, dramatic and original.
Burton Morris also is a nice guy from Pittsburgh with a passion for his paintbrush--and a client list that includes Michael Eisner, Ernest and Julio Gallo, the cast of “Friends”--and he’ll be the official artist for the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City.
On Saturday, the 34-year-old pop artist will be toasted at an L.A. exhibit of his paintings, drawings and prints at Wolfryd-Selway Fine Art.
Morris’ brilliant colors and vibrant images--a gum-ball machine, coffee cup, exploding toaster and popcorn box--will be on display, among others.
And if you want to tie one on--his artwork,that is--you can buy a Morris tie for $35 and up from his collection at all Macy’s stores.
