About 550 volunteers, community members and homeless people are expected at a Thanksgiving Day dinner given by the Shelter for the Homeless at the Good Samaritan Church. The shelter’s 12th annual Thanksgiving event will include apple bobbing, a pie eating contest and pin the tail on the turkey. The event is from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., Good Samaritan Church, 14362 Willow Lane.
