Organic Soups Are Donated for Needy

Oxnard’s homeless will enjoy a healthy holiday season thanks to the donation of three truckloads of organic vegetable soup to the Ventura County Rescue Mission.
Natural Choice Foods Inc. donated $47,000 worth of broccoli, potato, corn and other soups to the charity, which serves 700 meals daily and is Ventura County’s largest supplier of hot meals to the needy.
“These are premium soups made with the purest organic ingredients and minimal processing,” said Dean Walsh, president of the Oxnard-based company.
Cans of the soup will also be handed out to poor families as part of the mission’s holiday food giveaway. Officials are soliciting donations of canned and nonperishable food items for that program.
For more information, call the mission at 487-1234.
