* Helen Kelly Wheir has been appointed executive director for St. John’s Regional Medical Center Foundation and St. John’s Pleasant Valley Hospital Foundation. She has 20 years of experience as a philanthropy and public affairs executive.

Wheir comes to St. John’s from Cape Cod Hospital Foundation in Hyannis, Mass.

* Attorney Guy C. Parvex Jr., a senior partner with the law firm of Nordman, Cormany, Hair & Compton in Oxnard, has been certified by the State Bar of California as a family law specialist. To obtain the certification, Parvex was required to have experience in family law litigation, complete advanced education programs, pass a written exam and undergo peer review.

Parvex also practices general business and civil litigation.

* Mitch Marvosh has been named business development and marketing manager for Manufacturing Technology Inc. in Ventura. Previously, he was engineering manager.

Manufacturing Technology makes slicing and dicing equipment and diamond blades and offers contractual manufacturing services for the thin film, semiconductor and electronics industries.
