Residents or businesses undertaking minor building projects can skip a trip to City Hall’s permit counter if they have access to a fax machine and a credit card. The city this month began a “permit by fax” program to cut down on processing time. City officials said the program can be used for work that does not require a review of plans. Payments must be made by credit card. To obtain a form, call (714) 536-5241. The fax number is (714) 374-1647.
