It’s all part of the learning process for a team that rotates three freshmen in the backcourt. Forward Ben Jones and guard Gabe Cagwin snapped shooting slumps, each making five three-pointers against Oregon State. Center Mark Gottschalk, who missed the Oregon State game because of a strained left calf muscle, did not practice Sunday and will not play tonight. Jason Franklin, a 6-foot-4 junior guard, averages 15 points to lead Portland.
