“William Wegman”--New works including “Head on Back,” above, by the artist will go on display today at PaceWildenstein Gallery, 9540 Wilshire Blvd.

* “Day of the Dead Altars and Ephemera”--Traditional altars and Mexican folk art commemorating Dia del Los Muertos on Nov. 1 and 2 will be shown starting Saturday at the Folk Tree in Pasadena.

* “Surrogate”--Recent mixed-media works by Safi Alia Shabaik go on display Saturday at the Cruz L.A. Gallery, 211 Windward Ave. in Venice. The exhibit remains through Oct. 31.
