FELICITATIONS

Since Calendar decided to contribute to the relentless “Felicity” steamroller (“A Potential Star Is Torn,” by Bruce Newman, Sept. 27), even allowing actress Keri Russell’s manager to preen for the cameras, I decided to watch the show.

As expected, the premiere couldn’t withstand the weight of its own overextended hype. “Felicity” is an earnest series with innocuous characters and artificial dialogue. The entire hour served as a reminder of how tragic the failure of the vastly superior “My So-Called Life” was.
