Store Clerk Accused of Sexual Battery
A convenience store clerk was arrested Monday on suspicion of sexually battering a customer while she tried to pour herself a cup of coffee, police said.
The 40-year-old victim, of Temecula, went into the store at 2:30 a.m. While she was getting the coffee, the clerk allegedly grabbed the victim’s buttocks four or five times, police Sgt. Jim Perry said.
Police arrested Naib Singh, 41, of Fountain Valley and released him on his own recognizance. He will be arraigned Nov. 17 at the Justice Center in Westminster.
The crime can be prosecuted as either a misdemeanor or felony, Perry said.
