Resignation

* Mr. President, please don’t resign. Besides denying the people the man they elected, besides ending the fruits of your intellect and sense of what’s right for our nation, you would, by resigning, hand an undeserved victory to Ken Starr, his extremist cohorts, the self-righteous, the confused who can’t distinguish between marital infidelity and statesmanlike service and the fundamentally out-of-control Republicans in Congress slavering to subvert the will of the people.

* Please, President Clinton, do not resign. Richard Nixon did that, cheating me out of the last two acts. This time I want to see the whole show, right down to the Senate’s vote. I just wish they would raise the curtain as soon as possible.
