Smoke Smell Reroutes Jet

BOSTON —
An American Airlines MD-11 plane declared an emergency Tuesday when the pilot smelled smoke, and the craft safely landed at Boston’s Logan International Airport, a spokesman said. American Airlines Flight 87 was en route from London’s Heathrow Airport to Chicago with 181 passengers and 15 crew, he said. No injuries were reported.
