Mark Sutton of Antelope Valley was discharged from Antelope Valley Hospital early Saturday morning, a few hours after he complained of numbness in his fingers from a neck injury he sustained in the Antelopes’ 24-0 loss to Littlerock.

Sutton underwent X-rays and a CT scan, but suffered only a stiff neck, according to Antelope Valley Coach Brent Newcomb.

“He’s up and walking around, and he’s got movement and feeling in all of his limbs,” Newcomb said. “I would say he’s going to be all right.”

Newcomb said Sutton’s status for a Golden League game Friday at Palmdale will be decided after his condition is evaluated later this week.

Sutton, a sophomore starter at defensive end and fullback, was injured while making a block on a kickoff return.

Josh Bleyl, a senior center-defensive end for the Antelopes, is questionable after he suffered a strained left knee in the first quarter against Littlerock.
