More than 180 Oxnard police officers will receive a 7.5% wage increase over the next two years as part of a new labor agreement.
The City Council approved the contract Tuesday night. The Oxnard Peace Officers Assn. ratified the agreement in a vote taken late last month.
In addition, the labor agreement calls for setting up performance-based physical fitness programs and a drug and alcohol testing program.
The new deal will cost the city about $1.3 million over the life of the contract, officials said.
