Jacor Agrees to Acquire 3 Radio Stations

Jacor Communications Inc. signed an agreement to buy three Southern California radio stations from Lancaster-based Antelope Broadcasting Co. for $4 million in cash. The deal to buy KAVL-AM of Lancaster, KAVS-FM of Mojave and KYHT-FM of Yermo is subject to approval by the Federal Communications Commission. The stations will complement Jacor’s presence in Southern California, the company said. With these deals, Covington, Ky.-based Jacor will own, operate or represent 214 radio stations in 59 markets. The company’s properties also include NSN Network Services, a satellite systems integration company, and Premiere Radio Networks, which provides syndicated programming, including the Dr. Laura Schlessinger show and the Rush Limbaugh talk show. Jacor’s shares fell 44 cents to close at $57 on Nasdaq.
