Police to Issue Warnings on Cars With Missing Plates

Share

Beginning today, police will begin stopping vehicles that do not have both front and rear license plates, officials said.

Culver City Police Sgt. Omar Corrales said that for one month officers will issue warnings to drivers whose vehicles do not have both plates, as required by the state vehicle code.

In the second week of October, officers will begin giving citations for the violation, he said.

Corrales said many car owners neglect to put front plates on their cars, hindering police and civilian witnesses from identifying suspects in crimes involving vehicles, such as hit-and-run accidents.
