Re “Appeals Court Voids Snyder Conviction,” Sept. 3: If this state appeals court reversal stands, what is to prevent former Los Angeles Councilman Arthur Snyder or any other well-connected lobbyist from continuing to do “normal” money-laundering or other “normal” business subject only to occasional slaps on the wrist for mere “administrative” violations that could get any of us common folk lengthy sentences? Or are there different sorts of institutions for the laundering of not-too-clean money?
