NEW WORSHIP SERVICE: Granada Hills Church, 15950 Chatsworth St., will offer a new informal worship service at 9:30 a.m. Sunday. Professional musicians on guitar, bass, drums, piano, percussion and synthesizer will provide music to a Latin-calypso rhythm. Children’s church will be available for ages 5 and older at the same time. After Sunday, the worship schedule will be: 8:30 a.m. formal service, 10:30 a.m. informal service, and classes for all ages at 9:30 a.m. Information: (818) 360-2658.

NEW MINISTER: The Sepulveda Unitarian-Universalist Society (The Onion), 9550 Haskell Ave., North Hills, will welcome the fall season and its new minister, Dr. James Bodman, on “Homecoming Sunday” at the 10:45 a.m. service Sunday. Information: (818) 894-9251.

JEWISH FAMILY FALL FESTIVAL: The 3rd Annual Jewish Family Fall Festival, sponsored by the Jewish Community Council and local synagogues, will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday in Rawley Duntley Park, 3334 W. Avenue K, Lancaster. The festival will celebrate the new year with an afternoon of songs, dance, games and dessert. Families are asked to bring a main dish, blankets and chairs. ENTERTAINMENT FELLOWSHIP: Model, actress and Sunday school teacher Kathy Ireland will speak at the next meeting of the Entertainment Fellowship at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the CBS Studio Center, 4024 Radford Ave., Studio City. The fellowship is a nonprofit organization bringing together God and career people in the entertainment and media industries. The cost is $20 for members, $30 for guests. BIRTHDAY EVENT: The Holy Spirit Retreat Center, 4316 Lanai Road, Encino, will celebrate the 900th birthday of Hildegard of Bingen with an all-day program. Events, beginning at 9 a.m., will include prayer, praise, song, music, art, presentations, as well as times for silence and reflection. The program will end with an evening theater presentation in the main chapel. St. Hildegard was a poet, singer, musician, and artist who was respected for her creative talents. COMMUNITY LECTURE: “The State of Latino-Jewish Relations” will be the discussion topic between state Assembly members Antonio Villaraigosa (D-Los Angeles) and Bob Hertzberg (D-Sherman Oaks) at the annual meeting of the Jewish Federation. It will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Bernard Milken Jewish Community Campus, 22622 Vanowen St., West Hills. The cost is $7 and includes a dinner buffet.
