Man Found Slain in Gun Shop; Robbery Suspected

A man was shot to death Tuesday inside a Bellflower gun shop, possibly the victim of a robbery, authorities said.
The man was pronounced dead at the Powder Horn Gun Shop on Artesia Boulevard shortly after 1 p.m., said Sheriff’s Deputy Michael Irving.
Irving said deputies did not know if the victim was an employee or one of the owners.
The crime was discovered after two people noticed that the front door was locked and looked through the front window, Irving said. They saw that a display case had been broken and called the Sheriff’s Department.
Deputies asked the county Fire Department to help force open the door and found the body face-down behind a shattered glass counter.
Friends of the shop’s owner, Ed Green, said he had equipped the business with a security device that kept people out unless he buzzed them in.
