Deputies Probe Fire That Killed Man in Camper
Sheriff’s deputies are investigating the death of a man whose body was found in a burned-out camper shell early Friday.
Firefighters found the corpse of a man believed to be in his 70s after they extinguished a blaze in the 11100 block of South Osage Avenue shortly after 2:30 a.m., Deputy Mark Bailey said.
Sheriff’s investigators said the fire apparently was started by a hot iron left on a bed in the camper, Bailey said.
The man, who has not been identified, may have been a transient, he said.
