Karen M. Wood of Wood Insurance Services has been elected president of the Ventura County Assn. of Health Underwriters for 1998-99. Aline H. Roberts is immediate past president and Bill Hanna is president-elect.
Other officers are Mary Bouchard, treasurer, and Gena Galindo, secretary.
* James C. Nicoll has been named a New York Life Council Agent for the eighth consecutive year. The designation is based on Nicoll’s sales and service performance.
He is associated with Central Coast General Office of New York Life, 674 County Square Drive, Ventura.
* Susan McAnally has been hired as an account executive for KADY Television in Camarillo. Prior to that, she worked in sales for the automotive section of the Ventura County Star.
She also has worked for KLOS and KKLZ Radio, TBS Media Management and NW Ayers Advertising.
* Marc B. Bleecher, CEO of Marc B. Bleecher Healthcare Consulting, has advanced to the certified member status in the American College of Medical Practice Executives.
To achieve the member status, Bleecher had to pass oral and written examinations and take continuing education courses.
* Saliba Salo, former finance director at Glendale Memorial Hospital, has been named vice president and chief financial officer for Northridge Hospital Medical Center.
The hospital, which maintains facilities in Northridge and Van Nuys, has been embroiled in controversy recently for forcing poor women in labor to pay cash for epidural anesthesia.
