Illnesses Produce Wariness

Share

After initially blaming a pregame meal at the same Tallahassee hotel where USC will stay this weekend for an attack of food poisoning, Duke officials are considering the possibility that the illness was caused by an earlier meal in North Carolina. The attack affected 25 Duke players and other team personnel during and after the Blue Devils’ 62-13 loss to Florida State last Saturday.

“The first reaction is that it must be something we ate at the hotel, but it turns out it possibly may be something we ate back in Durham,” said Mike Cragg, Duke’s sports information director.

USC is scheduled to stay at the same hotel, the Ramada Inn Tallahassee, for its game against the Seminoles.
