The parent company of the 99 Ranch Markets has donated $100,000 to the Asian Youth Center.

The company, Tawa Supermarket Inc., will sponsor the Asian Youth Center, which is a private, nonprofit community-based organization. It was founded in 1989 by the San Gabriel Valley Asian task force of the United Way.

The center provides social services to more than 4,000 youngsters in Los Angeles and the San Gabriel Valley. Among its programs are substance abuse prevention, after-school tutoring and family counseling.

The donation will be used for the center’s ongoing building campaign.
