St. Francis 7, Burroughs 5--Sammy Sandoval doubled, homered and picked up his third save for the Golden Knights in a semifinal of the St. Paul tournament.

Sandoval’s homer in the fourth inning gave St. Francis (5-7) a short-lived 3-0 lead. Burroughs scored twice in the bottom of the inning and added two more runs in the fifth to go ahead, 4-3, before the Golden Knights rallied with four runs in the sixth.

St. Francis extended its winning streak to four games.

Starter Fernando Valenzuela pitched 4 2/3 innings for the Golden Knights, giving up five hits and four earned runs. He struck out three and walked three.

Crespi 12, Bellflower 1--Sophomore Johnathan Oller had a home run, a double and drove in three runs in a consolation game of the St. Paul tournament.

Joel Garcia also had a home run and a double for Crespi (11-3).

Marshall Plouffe (2-0) pitched a five-hitter and struck out three.

Quartz Hill 10, Rancho Alamitos 1--Richmond McMurray had two hits, drove in three runs and stole five bases for the Rebels in a consolation game of the St. Paul tournament.

Eric Connelly added three hits and three RBIs for Quartz Hill (4-10). He hit a home run in the fourth to give the Rebels their final margin of victory.

Crescenta Valley 6, Temple City 1--Kevin Rinder pitched a five-hitter and Mark McCauley had four hits for Crescenta Valley in a pool-play game of the Crescenta Valley tournament at Stengel Field in Glendale.

Rinder struck out nine and walked none for the Falcons (11-1), who have won 10 consecutive games and are ranked No. 1 in the region by the Times. McCauley tripled and John Barbaro had two hits, including a two-run double in the second.

Valencia 6, Glendora 4--Louis Velasquez’s run-scoring double gave Valencia a 5-4 lead in the sixth inning in a Crescenta Valley tournament game at Stengel Field in Glendale.

Richie Martin’s run-scoring triple tied the score, 4-4, in the sixth. In the fifth, Danny Braun hit a two-out, two-run single for Valencia (8-5-1).

Newbury Park 30, Hacienda Heights Wilson 7--Ryan Ayers hit his third home run of the season and drove in five runs for Newbury Park in a first-round game of the Don Lugo tournament at Chino Hills Ayala High.

Matt Emole hit a two-run triple for Newbury Park (8-4) and finished with four runs batted in.

L.A. Baptist 8, Oakland Head-Royce 5--Andrew Peterson had two hits, including a two-out, two-run single in the sixth that gave the Knights a 6-5 lead in a first-round game of the Templeton tournament.

Evan Regenstreif (3-0) scattered 10 hits, struck out three and walked two for L.A. Baptist (9-1).

Moorpark 18, Atascadero 8--Matt Norris had a run-scoring double in the first inning and finished with two RBIs for Moorpark in a first-round game of the Atascadero tournament.

Taylor Slimak had two hits, including a run-scoring double, for Moorpark (7-5).

Walnut Creek Las Lomas 7, Thousand Oaks 6--One of the Lancers’ six errors helped Las Lomas (6-4) score the winning run--and sixth unearned run--in the bottom of the seventh in an Atascadero tournament game.

Adam Leavitt’s three-run home run in the fourth for Thousand Oaks tied the score, 6-6.

Kevin Diez, Brent Schilhab, Jason Schultz and Leavitt each had two hits for Thousand Oaks (6-4).

Westlake 16, Estancia 0--John Shepard hit a two-out grand slam to cap a nine-run second inning for the Warriors in a second-round game of the Corona del Mar tournament that was called after five innings because of the 10-run rule.

Shepard had two hits and scored twice for Westlake (9-2-1).

Teammate Kevin Howard was three for three with three RBIs. His two-run home run in the fourth gave the Warriors their final margin of victory.

Covina 6, Littlerock 3--Mike Arviso hit a two-out, three-run home run in the top of the third to give Littlerock a 3-1 lead, but the Lobos failed to get another hit in a first-round game of the Gladstone tournament.

Arviso’s home run was his seventh of the season, but Littlerock (5-6) was held to three hits.

Campbell Hall 16, Windward 15--Aaron Kerr hit a two-run home run in the fifth and finished with three RBIs for host Campbell Hall in a nonleague game.

Steve Kim hit his fourth home run of the season in a seven-run first for Campbell Hall (11-1).

Windward scored seven runs in the seventh to pull within one.
