United States Beats Cameroon to Advance

The United States, behind two goals from Taylor Twellman, beat Cameroon, 3-1, Sunday to advance to the second round of the FIFA World Youth Championship in Bauchi, Nigeria.
Carlos Bocanegra had the other goal for the Americans, who play Spain on Thursday in the second round.
The United States finished with six points in Group E, as did Japan and Cameroon, all with 2-1 records in the under-20 tournament.
With the tie broken by goal difference, Japan finished first, the Americans second and Cameroon third. Japan defeated the United States, 3-1, on Thursday.
