INVOLVEMENT OPPORTUNITIES
Revlon Run/Walk for Women, the sixth annual 5K run/walk dedicated to finding a cure for breast and ovarian cancer, needs volunteers for the May 8 event to assist with registration, refreshments, route safety, water stations, finish-line festivities and more. Training is provided. The run/walk will be held at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. Information: (310) 393-6344.
* William O. Douglas Outdoor Classroom in the Santa Monica Mountains of Beverly Hills offers training sessions for volunteer naturalists starting Saturday and running Saturdays through June 5. Volunteers lead schoolchildren on two-hour hikes weekdays through the park, ending at the Sooky Goldman Nature Center. Weekend and evening programs for the public are held too. * Vista Del Mar Child and Family Services in Los Angeles offers orientation sessions for those interested in becoming foster parents.
