A montage of expressions of support, ranging from letters from East Los Angeles elementary school youngsters to flowers, flags and candles, adorns the family home of Army Staff Sgt. Andrew Ramirez, who has been held by Yugoslav captors since March 31. Streams of visitors, most of them complete strangers, have come to Eastmont Avenue to leave items in front of the house. Among them are homemade signs (“Puerto Rico loves you, Andy”), Bibles, a giant poster signed by local residents, yellow ribbons, rosaries and other religious artifacts. One man left his medal for completing this year’s Los Angeles marathon.
