Oxnard High School student Jesus Sandoval is one of 250 high school seniors nationwide to be selected as a finalist to receive a college scholarship from the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation.

The scholars have demonstrated a commitment to their school, community and family, said Sandy Williams, chairman of the board for the foundation. The finalists were selected from among more than 137,000 high school seniors representing more than 16,000 high schools.

Scholarship finalists will travel to Atlanta, where they will compete for 50 college scholarships of $20,000 per year for four years and 200 scholarships of $4,000 per year for four years. While there, they will interview with a national selection committee, tour the city and meet with former foundation scholars.
