Mitsubishi Names Diversity Relations Exec

* Odis Reid has been named vice president of diversity relations and minority recruitment for Mitsubishi Motor Sales of America Inc. in Cypress. He was formerly vice president of franchise development.

* Leslie J. Saleson has been named president of Abbott Resource Group Inc. in Irvine, the parent company of Abigail Abbott Staffing Services Inc., Abbott HR Inc. and Abbott Specialty Staffing Inc. Saleson joined the company from the Wescott Group, a merchant bank based in Beverly Hills. In 1991, she bought Pogen’s Family Bakery Inc. and served as co-chief executive and chief financial officer.

* Priscilla Hoffer has been appointed executive vice president and chief information officer for Downey Savings and Loan Assn. in Newport Beach. Before joining Downey, she was senior vice president of technology services at Glendale Federal Bank.

* Jay D. Baumgardner, III has joined the Costa Mesa office of U.S. Trust Co., N.A. as vice president and portfolio manager. He was a senior vice president and equity fund manager/equity portfolio manager for First American Corp. in Knoxville, Tenn. Before that, Baumgardner was a financial consultant with Smith Barney and an assistant vice president in the commercial banking division of City National Bank.

* Phillip B. Greer has been named a principal at the law firm of Berger Kahn in Irvine. Greer, who has been practicing law since 1980, was a partner at Borton, Petrini & Conron, LLP in Santa Ana.

* Catherine Prophet is the new president and chief executive of Building Blocks Pediatric Home Health Services Inc. in Newport Beach. She succeeds Ron Rawson, who now heads a new division of the company. Prophet had been vice president of clinical operations/administrator. Succeeding her in that position is Marion Townsend, who had been the company’s director of patient services.

* Fred Barry has been named vice president of marketing and sales for UltraLink LLC in Costa Mesa, a provider of health-care products and services. Barry was UltraLink’s managing director in 1993 and 1994, before going to FHP International to run the national accounts program. After FHP’s acquisition by PacifiCare Health Systems Inc., his role expanded to include sales operations, marketing communications and the development of a group retiree consulting division.

* Steven L’Heureux has joined Odetics Broadcast, a division of Odetics Inc. in Anaheim, in the newly created position of vice president of sales. He was vice president of sales and marketing at Vibrint Technologies Inc.

* Donald J. MacLellan and William C. Howatt have been appointed senior vice presidents and directors of investments for the western region of PM Realty Group Investment Services, the investment arm of PM Realty Group in Newport Beach. MacLellan previously spent 14 years with CB Richard Ellis, most recently as a company vice president. Howatt was formerly vice president of CB Richard Ellis, where he spent 15 years.

* Paul F. Klink has been named vice president of retail operations for Newport Beach-based Koll Development Co.’s western division. Previously, Klink was a consultant for Sino Development Co. in Shanghai. He has also been senior vice president of John Burnham & Co. in San Diego.

* Timothy J. Ryan has joined the board of directors of Rubio’s Restaurants Inc. in Carlsbad, operator of Rubio’s Baja Grill restaurants. Ryan is president and chief executive of Diedrich Coffee Inc. in Irvine.

* Laer Pearce has been elected to a three-year term on the executive committee of the Public Relations Counselors Academy, a division of the Public Relations Society of America. Pearce is president of Laer Pearce & Associates in Laguna Hills, a public affairs, public relations and marketing communications firm.

* Alfredo F. Ayuyao has joined Richmond American Homes as vice president and regional manager of the Orange County division. He was formerly with Taylor Woodrow Homes, and before that, with the Fieldstone Co. and Maguire Thomas Partners.

* Uzi Yair has been appointed chief executive officer for Redwood America Inc. in Aliso Viejo. He had been chief executive for Magic Software Enterprises Inc. Prior to that, Yair was chief executive for Liant Software.

* Mike Henney has been named president of Smart Title Solutions in Anaheim Hills. Henney has been with the company for 30 years, most recently as senior vice president.

* Scott C. Meredith has been appointed vice president, commercial loan officer for Sunwest Bank, which has offices in Tustin, Newport Beach and Orange. He was formerly with Wells Fargo Bank and Bank of America.

* Garry Meier has joined SM&A; Corp. in Newport Beach as president of the Information Technology Solutions Group. Meier was previously president and chief operating officer of Global Integrity, a division of SAIC in McLean, Va.
