* Re “Crunch Time in Long Search for O.C. Jail Site,” April 14:
I suggest Sheriff Mike Carona contract with Mexico for the lease of space in Mexican jail facilities.
Entering into such a contract to house convicts in other countries would save Orange County taxpayers money, support NAFTA and relieve the overcrowded jails in Orange County.
Once we fill up their jails, we can contract with France, Turkey, Russia or Central American countries.
