Renaissance Cruises Now for Adults Only

Share

Renaissance Cruises is now an adults-only line--and totally nonsmoking too. It has stopped accepting reservations for anyone under 18, even if accompanied by an adult.

“That’s what our customers wanted,” said Frank Del Rio, executive vice president for sales and marketing. The company, founded in 1989, caters to people 55 and over, with small ships and prices lower than on some other luxury lines--averaging about $200 per day, including air fare and hotel stays. It has four ships, operating in Europe and Asia, and plans to add two more this year and three in 2000--boosting its annual passengers from 125,000 to 225,000.
