STANTON
Council members will decide tonight what to do with the Stanton Neighborhood Center on Santa Paula Street. The center is in need of funds to upgrade the site and pay for programs, director Stella Cox said. The center, which has been in operation for 20 years, has no hot water, some exposed electrical wiring and worn siding. City officials asked 11 architectural firms last month to offer plans for a new Neighborhood Center; only two answered the city’s request.
