The Orange County Transportation Authority will hold an open house today and Friday for county residents to learn more about a proposed 28-mile urban rail system. The project--which would cost at least $1 billion--would provide access to Edison International Field in Anaheim, the Pond at Anaheim, South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa and Irvine Medical Center. The open house will give residents a chance to look at several proposed routes running from downtown Fullerton to the Irvine Spectrum. Also on display will be a variety of technology options for the so-called CenterLine project. Transit board members are scheduled to decide whether to pursue urban rail in Orange County by the end of the year. Hours for the open house are noon to 7 p.m. today and 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday; the OCTA Administrative Office is at 600 S. Main St., Orange.
