Fashion lost one of its greatest innovators last week when Harper’s Bazaar editor-in-chief Liz Tilberis died of ovarian cancer.

Eerily, the day of her death, packages arrived to the media from Sebastian International Inc. announcing a new lipstick color, Berry Bazaar, a color designed by and dedicated to Tilberis, who was described on the point-of-purchase displays as a cancer survivor.

Sebastian will donate 100% of the profits from the Trucco Divinyls lipstick, which sells for $8, to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund for one year.

Tilberis had been an advocate for research into ovarian cancer, one of the deadliest diseases a woman can face. She had worked with the Woodland Hills-based hair- and beauty-product company to come up with the color, which is a soft mauve. The Trucco products are available at Sebastian salons.

Chanel has revived some of its more popular lip and nail colors for the summer. Through the end of June, discontinued shades such as Midnight Red, Blue Flame, Woodrose and Fuchsia will be on sale at Chanel counters throughout the country. They’re packaged as part of Chanel’s Greatest Hits, alongside such timeless popular colors as Red Coromandel and Desert Rose.

A Chanel spokesman says the company occasionally brings back popular products for a limited time.

Melody Carrillo of West Los Angeles, Griselda Fernandez of Boyle Heights and Lupe Ibarra of West Hollywood turned up at Latina magazine’s model search in February, and now they’ll be in the August issue of the bilingual monthly.

The event attracted more than 300 women from all over L.A. Carrillo is a student at University High School, Fernandez attends East Los Angeles College and Ibarra is an administrative assistant. They will appear in the beauty-workshop section of the magazine.

Mea culpa: A few of you have written in politely noting that Gwyneth Paltrow sported a chignon in a cover photo last week, not a French twist as described in the caption. The April 23 Beauty column was about sleek, flat hairstyles like Paltrow’s, and Lisa Kudrow’s French twist.
