Midbury Street residents may soon get a chance to vote on becoming Brea residents if the City Council approves a proposal to hold a special election to annex the unincorporated Los Angeles County neighborhood. The proposed annexation must be approved by a majority of Midbury voters. Ballots will be mailed to property owners during the first week of August, and the results will be counted and announced Sept. 21.
If the annexation is approved by the residents and by the Local Agency Formation Commission, Midbury could become a part of Brea in a year.
