ORANGE
Motorists will not be able to cross Chapman Avenue under the Santa Ana Freeway starting Sunday. Caltrans officials suggest that motorists traveling east on Chapman Avenue turn left on State College Boulevard, right on Orangewood Avenue, right on Rampart Street and left on Old State College to Chapman Avenue. Westbound motorists should use the detour in reverse. The approximate six-week closure of the road is part of the $1.1-billion Santa Ana North Improvement Project, which began in December 1996 and is expected to be completed in 2000. Information: (800) 724-0353.
